We all watch the news, we've all seen the recent concerns over the coronavirus and traveling. Our clients' health and safety while traveling is extremely important to us.
At this time, none of the destinations we offer are listed as any concern of potential health risks for visitors.
The CDC Centers for Disease Control provides recommendations on postponing or canceling travel, these are called travel notices and are based on assessment of the potential health risks involved with traveling to a certain area. The CDC has only issued travel notices for visitors to; China, Iran, Japan, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong.
As long as you’re following the CDC’s warning against all nonessential travel to the certain areas listed, there’s no reason to stay off airplanes. The World Health Organization (WHO) advises that travelers exercise the same precautions they’d follow to avoid catching any bug. Contrary to popular belief, cabin air is less of a concern; virtually all international jetliners are equipped with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, similar to those used in hospital operating rooms; cabin air is refreshed every two to three minutes. Most medical experts say that face masks won’t protect you from other people’s illnesses; you’ll just prevent your own germs from spreading. Keep in mind that the virus spreads by droplets, not airborne transmission.
Our resorts remain committed to the safety and wellbeing of all travelers and clients. Each property we offer are working daily to deliver a memorable and safe vacation.
As recommended by the CDC, when you travel, take the following routine precautions:
- Avoid contact with sick people.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean your hands often by washing them with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60%–95% alcohol. Soap and water should be used if hands are visibly dirty.
- It is especially important to clean hands after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.
